Getting Your Sales Funnel Started

Hi,

There are a couple of things you will need to start setting up your first sales funnel. Your main item will be a good autoresponder service. I highly recommend (insert affiliate link) as I have been using them for a few years now. They are reliable and affordable and even offer a discount for the first month.

Your next step is to find a squeeze page template. Now you don’t have to buy any as there are many free templates available. Just do a quick search online and you will see what I mean.

Try to find a simple looking squeeze page and you may wish to use one where you can embed a video in it. You may even want to set up two different pages so you can test which ones work the best.

Always keep in mind that the purpose of your squeeze or landing page is to get your visitor to take an action. That is to primarily sign up to your list, in return they are getting your free product.

So the next thing you will need is the free product. This can be a report, a video or podcast or a short e course. You can create these things yourself or have some do it for you at Fiverr or WriteSwaps. Your other option is to purchase some PLR material and turn it into a report.

You now have a few things to start getting set up before I send you the next email. Get started with them and if you have any problems let me know. I am happy to answer your questions.

Take Care,

Researching Content for Your Squeeze Page

Hi,

Hopefully you have signed up for your autoresponder account and have a couple of squeeze page templates ready to use.

The next step is to create content for your squeeze page, but before you do that there is one important step that is often overlooked. Research! You need to know what your ideal customer is looking for!

You can do your research in several ways. First by looking at similar products and seeing who they target will be very helpful. Use Alexa tools and rankings to see where their traffic is coming from and their demographics.

Another option is to find forums in your niche and hang out. Then you can see what type of questions people are asking. This can also give you great content for your free product.

Once you know what your customer is looking for it will be much easier to build your list. Your squeeze page will provide them with the solution that they are looking for and this is crucial.

The research portion is going to take time but the rewards will be well worth it. So I won’t keep you any longer. Start your research today and make a list of who your target customer is. Don’t forget to switch shoes yourself and become your ideal customer. How would you look for your solution and what would make you sign up for a free offer?

Good luck and will check back soon.

Setting Up Your Autoresponder

Hi,

Before we actually start work on creating your squeeze page you will need to create your opt in box and have your autoresponder loaded with a few messages. Depending upon which service you use the opt in box is fairly straight forward to set up. Most services have step by step instructions with sample boxes that you can use.

When you set up your list the instructions will follow in sequence and end with giving you the code you need to generate your box. This code will then be placed on your squeeze page.

Your freebie can be attached to your first email letter or you can upload it to your server and provide them with a download link on a download or thank you page.

It is recommended to have at least 7 follow up messages to go out to your subscribers. This way you can keep in touch with them and get them used to hearing from you on a regular basis.

Well that is it for today’s tasks. As always if you run into issues let me know and I will do my best to help you out.

Until next time!

Building Your Squeeze Page

Hi,

Now that you have your research completed and your opt-in box prepared you are ready to start building your page. Your first step is to construct a compelling headline. One that grabs your reader’s attention and makes them want to continue reading.

Make bullet points out of the benefits of what you are offering. Keep them short and to the point. Usually about four or five bullet points are enough. Plus don’t forget to reinforce what you are offering and what the person can expect to get out of it. Sell benefits here!

Your next step is to encourage your visitor to fill out the opt-in form. Even though it is right there on the page many people still don’t fill it in. So you need to tell them to put in their name and email address.

This can be achieved by telling them what action to take in a text message or in your short video.  Something as simple as: ‘to receive your free report in the next few minutes simply add your name and email address in the box to your right/below and your report will be delivered straight to your inbox’.

If they will have to confirm their subscription to your list let them know to look for the email and click on the link. Prepare them ahead of time and they will easily sign up to your list.

Don’t forget to put your legal disclaimers if necessary at the bottom of your squeeze page. This way you can avoid any potential problems from occurring.

Don’t worry if this step takes you a while to do. You can always make a few copies of this page and test them out to see which works the best. Whatever you create isn’t set in stone and can quickly be changed at any time.

Anyway get started and see what you come up with. I would love to see what your pages look like when completed.

Thanks and take care.

The Sales Funnel Process

Hi,

It is time now to start thinking about the actual sales process that your customer will go through. First they will subscribe to your list and then be taken to a Thank You page. This is a good place to put your download link. It is also the ideal location to offer them a small paid offer. This is known as an Upsell or a One Time Offer.

The main thing to remember is that this product must be closely related to your main freebie. It has to be something that enhances or complements your first offer. Don’t make this a huge selling point. What I find works best is to recommend or suggest something that they might also like or will find helpful. You want to approach this as a soft sell.

Make sure that your free offer is easy to download. You can find some great graphics which you can easily add to your page. This way they can easily bypass the one time offer and go straight to their download.

Many new marketers are concerned about selling something when you have just offered something for free. I used to feel the same way but when I started offering a onetime offer I was amazed at how many people bought it. It is a great way to increase your income and that is what we are all after anyways.

As long as you are always offering great value and tips to your list you can build a good relationship. Your end goal as a marketer is to get your list to know, like and trust you. This way they will be happy to make purchases from you.

So start looking for a product that you can place on your download page. This doesn’t have to be your own product. It could be to an affiliate product such as something from Clickbank or Amazon.  Just be sure to make it relevant to your freebie.

That should give you enough to work on for today.

Thanks

Getting Visitors to Your Squeeze Page

Hi,

By now your squeeze page should be ready to go. Once you have it live on your website your next goal is to get it in front of people. This can be the hardest part for many new marketers, but being consistent with your marketing efforts is key.

You can use a service such as pingler to ping the URL of your new squeeze page this will help get it found by the search engines. Using social sites including Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn is another way to drive traffic to your page.

Other ideas include article marketing, writing and submitting press releases and creating your own videos. All of these things do work but you must do them consistently. It really won’t help you if you write just one article and get it published. Aim to have at least ten articles all pointing back to your squeeze page.

The same with videos make a couple of videos and upload them to video sharing sites. By doing lots of different things to market your page you will eventually get more exposure. Another idea is to leave comments on related blogs with a link back to your free offer.

Plus don’t forget about forums and posting helpful comments and advice to people there. Don’t try and promote your landing page. Just try to build a reputation and work from there. In time people will see you as the go to person and will start coming to you for advice. When this happens you can point them to your freebie. Plus some forums allow you to leave a URL in your signature file, this is the perfect place to leave your squeeze page link.

For this week your goal should be to try to set yourself up a schedule so that you can start promoting your squeeze page, just aim to do a few things each week. Don’t overload yourself or you will find that you get burned out and will give up.

Let me know if I can help in anyway.

Thanks

Putting it Altogether and Tracking Your Results

Hi,

Congratulations of getting your sales funnel up and running. Hopefully you have spent some time on marketing it and you may even have a few subscribers already!

If not just do some more marketing and try some social sites like Digg and Stumble Upon. There are thousands of sites like these where you can bookmark your page.  Don’t discount writing short articles and one great place I like for this is Gather dot com. Your articles or posts can be short and take only a few minutes to post.

Other ideas include creating some Web 2.0 pages and linking them to your squeeze page. Tumblr and Squidoo are two examples.

At this point you may wish to be tracking your results and to do this you can use both Google Webmaster tools and Google Analytics on your page. It takes a few weeks before your statistics start to show but this information can be really invaluable. You can discover what keywords are being used to find your page and where your traffic is coming from.  It only takes a few minutes to get started with these tools and if you are a serious marketer then they are something that you should incorporate into your business.

The biggest piece of advice I can give you is not to give up. It will take a little time until you see consistent traffic to your site. But the traffic will come and in the meantime you can work on improving your page or setting up a new one and see which one gives you the best results.

As always I am available to offer help and suggestions. Just hit reply to this email and send me your questions and comments.

Thanks for taking the time to read this.
